Wazo Connect is a student organization that aims to improve mental health on university campuses through peer mentorship and wellness activities. We serve as a complement to CAPS and other mental health group on campus to provide the best support for students who are feeling lonely and stressed. All our services are free for all UCLA students
At Wazo Connect, we have developed a 6-week program comprised of weekly one-on-one mentorship sessions for 1-3hours. Each student in need (mentee) is assigned a personal student mentor, based on the mentee's needs, preferences, and identities. Past mentees rated 4.42 on a scale of 5 on how well we paired them up with their mentor.
Our Wazo Wellness Workshops are designed to provide our mentees with alternative forms of self-care and self-expression. Previous workshops were on meditation, aromatherapy, yoga, dance, improv and more. Follow our facebook page to find out about upcoming activities. These activities are held on Tuesdays 6-8pm at the RISE center (Basement of Luvalle) during odd weeks.
